SARAH ROACH
Sarah
A collector of knick-knacks, fake plants, and miss-mix paints, Sarah Roach
makes paintings and installations that lie somewhere in between re-decoration
and set design. Currently she is working on series of installations that address
home-decor and the domestic environment. Sarah also works at a grocery store arranging
fresh produce and will receive her BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in the
Spring of 2009. Sarah is originally from Alabama but now lives in Portland, Oregon.
CYRUS SMITH
Cyrus Smith received a B.A. in studio art from Humboldt State University,
California in 2004, with an emphasis in museum and gallery practices and sculpture.
His largely self-initiated projects as artist, collaborator, and facilitator make use
of installation, performance, publication, and local media as platforms for cultural
intervention. Some recent projects include a radio interview show, a Pepsi-rocket ship
moon voyage, and a series of unauthorized screenings of Michael Jordan footage. Cyrus is
currently serving as the program director for the Pancake Clubhouse Historic Township and
Activity Destination for the Living Arts (welcomes you), an alternative arts venue in Portland, OR.
